FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions we are asked most about the 2027 year.
How many children are in a class?
English group classes have six students at most. Spanish groups have between two and six, and both languages also offer 1:1 lessons. When a class is full we open another at the same level.
How are the levels divided?
English has seven levels, from DISCOVERER (kindergarten) to LEADER (grade 6). Placement follows how your child reads and writes now, not their school grade. Spanish has five stages on the European scale (CEFR), from Pre-A1 to B2.
How is my child placed in a class?
Through an in-person level test at the academy. Primary students are assessed in reading, grammar, writing and speaking; kindergarten children are observed in their first lesson instead. We explain the result and the recommended class at the consultation.
What do parents receive?
A weekly report every Friday, a monthly report at the start of each month, a Progress Pack at the end of each course showing reading, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary at a glance, and in December a Year Wrap that gathers the whole year. Teachers write the reports themselves and we notify you by KakaoTalk.
When are the lessons?
English groups meet on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday: two 90-minute lessons a week, each followed by a 30-minute Studio. Friday BOOK CLUB is optional. Spanish lessons are 60 minutes for kindergarten and 90 minutes above that. The timetable is set at the consultation after the level test.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
Every missed lesson, whatever the reason, is covered by a Catch-Up Pack and checked in the next Studio. If the other class at the same level has a seat, your child may join it once per course; request this by 18:00 two days before the lesson through the parent portal (from January 2027) or our KakaoTalk channel. Same-day illness gets the Catch-Up Pack only, not a swap. There are no refunds or carry-overs for absences; when FORTEDU cancels a lesson, FORTEDU holds a make-up lesson. 1:1 Premium lessons can be moved to an open slot with 24 hours' notice.
Which Spanish do you teach?
The Spanish of Spain. The materials, from KM CERO to TEIDE, are written by FORTEDU, and DELE exams and IB school Spanish are prepared to the same standard.
Group or 1:1, which is right for my child?
Groups read and speak with peers at the same level and build the year through four courses. 1:1 Premium follows one child's pace and can start mid-course when a slot is open. We decide together at the level test and consultation.
When can we enrol?
Consultations for the 2027 year are held in person at the academy from 23 to 28 November, and contracts close on 30 November. The first course, LAB, begins on 4 January. After that, students can join when a course changes and a seat is open.
How is tuition paid?
Tuition pays for one seat for one course. Group programs are billed monthly; 1:1 Premium is billed by the sessions remaining until the course ends. We send an invoice each month, payable by bank transfer or at the academy's Toss terminal. Once the payment is confirmed you receive a confirmation, and receipts are issued on request. Registered tuition is listed on the Tuition page.
